Default MY 1987 LT1 t56 S10

I just took the truck out for a wash and starting detailing the outside. The interior is a mess still.

Here's an album of how the truck was sitting today.
IT was nice out so i decided it was time for a wash and wax and a fine detail of the outside. I didn't get nearly as far as i wanted to. Washed the whole truck, buffed all the chrome and painted my rear drums and front calipers red. They were half covered with orange over spray so i need to make them all the same color.

I still have to sand all the runs out of the driver side and then buff and wax it. There's basically a run all the way along the truck following the body line, Also while it was taken apart and things were moved around in the garage it acquired some new paint chips and scratches that need to be touched up. The outside looks good they way it is right now but it could be a lot better.

I haven't even started cleaning out the interior as its covered in a lot of dust but i will get around to that sooner or later.

Sorry to anyone on 56k!

Looks GOOD! Love the duels in the back (sounds good as well). Engine bay is clean too. I see you have no AC, did you remove it or did it not have it? It seems you have a cover over your relays as well, unless you relocated them. Any engine upgrades? Sorry so many questions, I have same eng. tranny combo, just newer truck.

The truck was a base line model. I have no Power steering, brakes, AC or Heat,

Its more or less just the summer toy and its actually very easy to handle with out power.

The block is 30 over and 0 decked. With a Comp Cam 503 (was the biggest cam that was useful you my head flow rate. A lot of people use the Comp Cam 306 but to get the full potential out of the 306 you need head work or different heads.

The bottom end is a Eagle Specialty Products street and strip rotating assembly, Forged 5140 steel rods and An Eagle cast Crank shaft.

I built the wiring harness and relay/fuse box. Its actually mounted right in the middle of the firewall. You can see all the wires running inside the cab for the PCM which i have under the dash.

I didn't want to notch the frame in the front to fit the serpentine belt system. Instead i switched to a corvette Hub in the front and a specilty alternator relocation bracket allowing me to use my stock s10 alternator ( the s10 alt is smaller but provides the same amperage.) I have about a 1/4 to 1/8 inch clearance between the alt and passenger frame rail

Here's a link to my build thread on s series form if anyone would like to know more
